Voting Decisions: Shaping the Future of Our Families and Well-being

Empowering families through informed choices

This blog is not a political forum, but a call for everyone to become AWARE. I often describe awareness as the first step towards responsibility because without it, taking action is often challenging. Therefore, this year and for the ones to come call all of us to heightened awareness.

Political Awareness: Coalition and Economy

  1. The Importance of Coalition in Politics
To be an effective politician, one must rely heavily on coalition-building. This is why the ideology, alignment, and values of a party are closely aligned. Such alignment minimizes disparities among views, preventing voter abstention or doubts when deciding between parties.
  2. The Role of the Private Sector in the Economy
America’s economy is largely supported by the private sector, which contributes around 85%. As you consider voting this year, regardless of your affiliation, it’s crucial to understand how policies affect your well-being and that of those around you. Analyze the statements you hear and remember that America’s institutions are strong, governed by three branches that make legal changes challenging. Evaluate whether proposed changes are feasible and beneficial to your quality of life.

Financial Well-Being: Understanding Economic Impacts

  1. The Reality of Tax Incentives
Tax incentives are often designed to trigger emotional responses to stimulate the economy. Ask yourself, has any tax incentive truly improved your long-term quality of life? The American dream of homeownership is complex and comes with responsibilities. An incentive toward closing costs doesn’t alleviate the financial burdens of home maintenance. Often, when a down payment incentive is offered, house prices may rise by the same amount.
  2. Entrepreneurial and Career Considerations
As a start-up entrepreneur, consider how much revenue and expenses are necessary to qualify for a $50,000 tax deduction. If you’re an employee, understand your company’s culture, values, and vision. Make sure it aligns with yours. From the start, develop your own vision and mission. Work towards self-development, and ensure your boss supports your growth. Remember, some bosses may prefer to keep you rather than let you advance. For entrepreneurs, struggles and setbacks are growth opportunities. Your goal is to establish value and benefits that people desire, which will lead to success.

Personal Purpose: Defining Goals and Aspirations

  1. Defining Purpose and Objectives
For those who came to America for education, escaping hardship or the American dream, your goals should go beyond just making money. Align your purpose with your passions and aspirations. Money is a tool to achieve your dreams, but it should not be treated as either the GOAL or the PURPOSE that adds value to your aspirations. It’s time for us to redefine what immigration means to us and let us join hands and help those looking to come to America do it with a defined purpose.

Family Values: Teaching Respect and Responsibility

  1. Instilling Values and Understanding
To my fellow women, mothers, and parents—when did our values stoop so low that we can’t teach abstinence to our children? The conversation around abortion should not overshadow the importance of teaching respect for our bodies and readiness for intimacy. This important topic should not be politicized. Teach your children the value of abstinence and self-respect until they are mentally and physically prepared.

Reflecting on Family Decisions
As you read this blog, ponder the following: As a parent, what do your decisions mean for your values, your future, and your children? How can we define and strengthen family values first?

Through awareness and action, we can fulfill our responsibilities, improve our lives, and foster a stronger community and nation.
